Essalys
Financial plans & corporate finance · Brussels & remote

A financial plan your banker takes seriously.

You are building a project, looking for financing, or facing an investment decision — without the time or the inclination to become a financial analyst. I build the numbers-backed file that holds up, I explain it to you clearly, and you can defend it yourself before a banker, a court or a board of directors.

What sets me apart from a traditional accounting firm: training in both corporate finance and financial markets (Solvay, FMVA®) — I don't just record your numbers, I put them to work for a decision.

Case studies

Four recent engagements, anonymised — real sectors and real issues, no names and no identifying figures.

Corporate finance

A financial plan for a bank loan

An early-stage SRL in the construction/electrical sector: a €20,000 financing file to build for a Belgian bank. Three-year financial plan with an integrated credit simulation — a complete file, ready to submit.

Bankruptcy & continuity

Going-concern analysis under tax debt

A construction-sector SRL facing a heavy unprovisioned tax debt. Full diagnosis and quantified scenarios (appeal, judicial reorganisation, cessation) — giving legal counsel a solid basis for its decision.

Bankruptcy & continuity

Statement of affairs for creditors

A services company that had ceased trading, referred by a law firm. Reconciliation of diverging accounts, realisable assets set against liabilities — a reliable basis for the firm's strategy.

Tax

Tax optimisation before year-end close

A recently formed consulting SRL: securing the reduced corporate income tax rate (Art. 215 of the Belgian Income Tax Code, CIR92) and structuring specific flows before the close. Compliant accounts, an optimised structure from the start.

Who is behind Essalys

Hugues Alfred Essono

I started out in financial markets before turning to corporate finance — and it is that journey back and forth that gave rise to Essalys. I saw too many business owners handed numbers without ever understanding what they meant for their decision, and too many good cases poorly defended because they were poorly told. Essalys exists to close that gap: rigorous numbers, explained simply, in the service of a decision.

I am Hugues Alfred Essono, an independent corporate finance consultant. I combine sharp technical expertise with a teacher's approach: you don't just receive numbers, you understand what they mean for you — and you can defend them.

I hold a Master in Management Science from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (ULB), am pursuing the FMVA® track (Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst, CFI), and have a deep command of Belgian accounting and IFRS — a decisive asset when analysing companies in distress.

I work with companies, self-employed professionals and founders, as well as with court-appointed trustees and lawyers on bankruptcy and going-concern engagements. An analyst's rigour, honesty about what is and isn't achievable, and clarity in the debrief — the same approach, whether the file is a financial plan or a going-concern diagnosis. Engagements can run at your offices, remotely, or as temporary embedded support within your team (in-house freelancing, part-time or for a fixed period).

Why Essalys?

  • Solvay Brussels School graduate
  • Dual expertise: corporate finance and markets
  • Command of BE GAAP and IFRS
  • CFI certificates: 3-statement modelling, financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow, Power BI
  • Author of accounting and finance course materials
  • Flexible formats: one-off engagements, remote work or on-site secondment
  • Fixed fees, agreed upfront
